Love is Allowing People to Speak Their Language

As I age, I realize that it's wrong to ask people to change the way they are to be accepted by the world. It's wrong to teach them how to say things so people will stop judging them. It is beautiful to let people say the things they want to say and act the way they want to act and let people in their lives come and go.

We, all, have that one language innate of us. I love you to someone can translate to:

  • you mean the world to me
  • I have to tell you this because it will make you happy. It's not exactly how I feel but I sincerely want to make you happy.
  • If I tell you this, I can have control over you
To some people, they can't even say I love you. They say, "the day is beautiful". It has the same gravity for them, even deeper. We all have that language we speak and I hope we can all just use that and be free. We can say I'm sorry in so many ways. To some, being sorry is pushing people away or denying the truth in front of them. We can all be lost in translation even if we speak the same language. But, there will always be that few people who will see us through. Who knows us too well, that they will not rely on words but read between our lies, and still believe we're a beautiful person. There are those people who will cheer silently for us.

So, in time when we feel the urge to ask people to change in order to protect them, let's not.

Inspiration:
I wrote this after watching Ear's Candy: Jang Keun Suk Episode 4. I also remember some lines from Romance is a Bonus Book.
